So far into the season, the Audi R15 TDI looks to be a winner. Winning the 12 Hours of Sebring and coming for a hard fought third place overall with at the epic 24 Hours of Le Mans. However, as many know, Audi’s victories haven’t been limited to just this year but 8 years previously of a incredible series of wins both in Europe and the U.S. circuits.

However, instead of just fondly looking back on when you watched a victory at Sebring or stood at the grand stands of the Circuit de la Sarthe, one man has given us the ability to remember Audi’s victories in a far more interesting, memorable way: through his art work.

Rob Ijbema is an artist who runs the site Car-A-Day which captures many of Audi’s victories through his intricate paintings from the R10 with Tom Kristensen at the wheel to the 2009 win at the 12 Hours of Sebring, to a Quattro and even an Audi Streamliner. Ijbema’s lively paintings really capture the beauty and essence of what it feels like to be beside the Armco’s watching the quiet diesel flicker by to the thundering Corvette C6R’s to the shriek of a Formula One car.
